Label films are one of the fastest growing sectors of the polypropylene film market. Label applications fall into 3 main sections, Melior Film Converters can offer label films in various gauges for the following markets:

 

SAL – Self Adhesive Labels 

 

Transparent:

  • Face Stock and Lamination applications
  • “No label look” face stock
  • Suitable for coating
  • No migratory additives
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic, off set or UV printing
  • Available in gauges from 25 to 50 micron

 

White Voided:

  • Self adhesive label applications
  • White pearlescent, high gloss appearance
  • High yield
  • Suitable for coating
  • No migratory additives
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic, off set or UV printing
  • Available in gauges from 50 to 60 micron

 

Solid White:

  • White appearance
  • Self adhesive label applications
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic, off set or UV printing
  • Available in gauges from 40 to 50 micron

 

Metallised:

  • Self adhesive label applications
  • High gloss metal appearance
  • Suitable for coating
  • No migratory additives
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Available in gauges from 30 to 50 micron

 

Release Liner:

  • Release liner application for self adhesive labels
  • Suitable for siliconising (solvent, solventless based, hot melt and UV curing processes)
  • No migratory additives
  • Available in gauges from 30 to 50 micron

 

WAL – Wrap Around Labels (Cut & Stack)

 

Transparent:

  • Treated layer for printing
  • Good chargeability and anti static property
  • Excellent die cutting
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic and off-set printing
  • Available in 55 micron

 

White Voided:

  • Treated layer for printing
  • Very high yield
  • White pearlescent appearance
  • Good anti static properties
  • Excellent die cutting
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic and off-set printing
  • Available in 60 and 65 micron

 

WAL – Wrap Around Labels (Reel Fed)

 

Transparent:

  • Excellent optical properties
  • “No label look” applications
  • Good anti static and slip characteristics
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Hot melt receptive
  • Single web structure
  • Suitable for rotogravure and flexographic printing (Off set and flexo UV printing options also available)
  • Available in 25 to 40 micron

 

White Voided:

  • Improved yield characteristics (including ultra high yield)
  • White pearlescent high gloss appearance
  • Consistent slip characteristics
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic, off set or UV printing
  • Available in 30 to 47 micron

 

Matt:

  • One side matt silk appearance, other side glossy
  • Glossy side treated for printing and lamination
  • Hot melt receptive
  • Good anti static and slip properties
  • Suitable for rotogravure and flexographic reverse printing
  • Available in 35 micron

 

Metallised White Voided:

  • White appearance on non metallised side
  • High loss surface
  • Very high yield 
  • Excellent light protection
  • Consistent and improved slip characteristics
  • Hot melt receptive
  • Single web structure
  • Lamination
  • Suitable for rotogravure and flexographic printing
  • Available in 35 to 47 micron

 

IML – In Mould Label (Injection moulding or Thermoforming)

 

Transparent (Injection Moulding):

  • Treated layer for printing
  • Treated layer for injection moulding
  • Transparent appearance
  • Good chargeability and anti static properties
  • Excellent die cutting
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic and off set printing

 

White Voided (Injection Moulding):

  • Treated layer for printing
  • Treated layer for injection moulding
  • Films available with the following effects after injection moulding process (glossy, smooth or orange peel)
  • Good yield properties
  • White pearlescent appearance
  • Good chargeability and anti static properties
  • Excellent die cutting
  • Suitable for rotogravure, flexographic and off set printing

 

Solid White (Injection Moulding):

  • High gloss effect after injection moulding

Label films are available in a number of core density’s to enable greater yield performance and efficiency in conversion costs. Label film density is available in ranges from 0.96g/cm³ down to 0.55g/cm³

Shelf appeal; the superior gloss and clarity of the transparent films enables end users to create a “no label look” on their converted product, whether it be in a wrap around label application or pressure sensitive face stock application. Metallized label options enable end users to differentiate their product on the shelf with an enhanced metallic appearance.
